Meet Sam. If you think your life is sad, imagine if you peaked at the age of 14 months. He was the most talked about baby in all of Kowloon. Until he got replaced by the melting ice caps. Since then, he’s thought of one thing and one thing only. To get back on top. Now, at the age of 16, after waiting his entire life, he has finally got his chance, to star, in the low-rated half an hour documentary channel,  about student stress. He has, once again, grasped the spotlight and this time he has NO intention of letting it go.

This will be a mockumentary about a sixteen year old boy who lied his way into a documentary about the stressful life of a student.

The genre of this film will be comedy. After conducting extensive research, statistics show that audiences in the age group of 15-18, would prefer to watch comedy short films over horror, romance and drama. So not only would my film be entertaining, it would also be very profitable.

For the equipment, I found a couple of sites, that allow you to rent equipment. Different sites offer different prices. That’s why I have opted to rent equipment from two sites. These are Rent A Pro and Gaifong. Rent A Pro is more expensive than Gaifong, but it offers audio equipment which Gaifong does not.

I have done the similar thing for the crew. I found this site called Production Hub. Production Hub helps you find your crew mates. It provides you with detailed profiles and ways to contact them. Unfortunately, the price is not included. But after some research, I’ve got an estimate of what should be expected and added that to the budget.

There are multiple sites to hire talent. Some include HKAPA, StarzPeople. But, I think CentreStage would be the most beneficial choice for hiring actors. This agency provides you with young student actors. All I would have to do is send a casting breakdown and wait for responses.

The estimated budget for the film is 20,000 dollars. This includes the equipment, crew, cast AND location. The money is a small price to pay for a successful film.

This film will most definitely appeal to audiences. Mockumentaries work because of the cringey but realistic cast, and it makes you feel like you know these people. Thus, it makes you invested in their lives. Wanting to see what will happen to them. That is why the film film will be a success.
